About me

I experienced the healing and positive benefit of Counselling, during a difficult period in my own life, as a consequence of this, I was motivated to study Counselling and achieved an Advanced Diploma in Christian Counselling.

I trained in an Integrative Model of Counselling drawing on several theories, including Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic Theory. More recently I have completed further training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focussed Couples Therapy and working with Post Traumatic Stress.

Since qualifying, I have worked in several Counselling organisations, as well as in private counselling practice in Alton.

I have experience working with adults and couples, helping clients make sense of what's happening in their lives and finding a way forward. This includes issues related to loss, anxiety, abuse, depression, disability, trauma and relationship difficulties.

I welcome working with spiritual issues and am happy to counsel those who have any faith or none.

In addition to Counselling, I have worked for many years as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS, retiring early in 2013.

I am accredited with the Association of Christian Counsellors. I abide by the Ethical Framework and Professional Conduct Procedure of the ACC and am fully insured to offer counselling.

I am passionate about the potential of therapy to help us find ways to explore ourselves and others, and help us lead richer, more emotionally satisfying lives.
